I had an appointment at 10am having travelled from Kent near Folkestone so we left at 5.30am to ensure we would not be late. We were out by 10.05. A waste of time. The consultant had no information on me, despite my consultant in Kent having sent it all. So somewhere in the ether of King's my MRI scans and other scans are floating around. The consultant didn't even have my referral letter... so how did I get an appointment? The consultant then gloated about surgery they had done 3 years ago,
When I showed the consultant my copies of letters with up to date information about the MRI scans and other consultants' opinions about the scans and what they show, the consultant said they do not make sense, and insisted that I must have another MRI ie at King's and then come back again to see them afterwards. I asked when that would be, and the consultant shrugged their shoulders. I asked if I could have the scan nearer home and the consultant said would you really risk it. They said this is the NHS...implying rubbish. I know having waited a year since referral could delay things probably another year. I know my scans were sent. Is this good service.
The consultant does not appreciate the distances involved, the cost or the pain of traveling. The consultant had poor eye contact no inter-personal skills or sense that this was unacceptable.
"A waste of time"
