"I attended the orthapedic outpatients ..."

About: Royal Albert Edward Infirmary

(as the patient),

What could be improved

I attended the orthapedic outpatients department twice in September. My first appointment was at 8.30am and I arrived at 8.15am as is usually requested.I couln't book in until8.40am. At 9am, no-one had been called in and none of the staff had written on the board that there was a delay. When I asked the receptionist if there was some reason for the delay she suggested that Iask one of the nurses, which I did. Her reply was that no doctors had arrived yet. She then added that she didn't know why the early appointments where made as doctors didn't usually arrive before 9am. I left at about 9.15am,without being called and after making another appointment for 8.45am the following week.

This time, the first patient and myself were called in together at 9.10am so that it appears that the nurse's comment was correct.

I think that the proceedure is disrespectful to patients.
