"The first time we visited we saw ..."

About: Leigh Infirmary

(as the patient),

What I liked

The first time we visited we saw a very pleasant nurse.

What could be improved

I was seen in ward 2 for fertility issues. The staff were very rushed and did not spend any amount of time explaining the process or any of the procedures. I was taken into a side room after spending less than two minutes with the consultant to make a further appointment. We were constantly interrupted and did not get the information we required. The information dealt with is very personal and can be upsetting. This need to be considered when speaking to patients.

The whole experience was unprofessional and rushed. It appeared that they could not wait to get us out of the door. I had a list of questions that I wanted to ask, however that nurse disappeared and other came back to make the further appointment.

The staff obviously have too large a workload, although there does seem to be a large number of them. I would suggest a set appointment time where a dedicated and uninterruptible amount of time is available to spend with each couple/person.

Each time I attended an appointment I felt as if I was putting the staff out by disturbing them. I am presently trying to get transferred to a different trust to hopefully receive a warmer, friendlier and dedicated service.

Anything else?

Please make it a friendlier environment....
