"Excellence Ward O2 Stem Cell Harvest"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital

I have spent most of today in Ward 02 having a procedure to harvest my stem cells for a transplant as I suffer from Myeloma. It is a long and scary procedure but I cannot praise the staff enough for making the experience as easy as it could be. Everyone was highly professional, communicative, cheerful and very knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble. The co-operation between staff members was exemplary and they were all vigilant to every detail of my care. I never saw them take a break in five hours and they were as friendly to the friend who accompanied me as they were to me. It was not an easy thing to face today but I thank the hospital and Blood a Transfusion Service for inspiring all my trust and making me feel so well cared for. We are lucky to have you!
