My breast cancer was detected during a routine screening.
I was referred to Ardmillan terrace unit - I was then referred very quickly to the Western and recently underwent a beat reduction and lumpectomy.
I would like to praise everyone without exception with whom I have had contact with. It was not just the fabulous treatment I have received but the manner of the treatment - and I would like to thank the staff in ward 6, my consultant Mr Kulkarni and all his team at both the Western and Ardmillan Terrace, the oncology team and the car park attendant!
Everyone has been courteous and professional. The referral from one department to another has been seamless. I cannot speak highly enough of everyone involved and the NHS in general- if it had not been for the routine screening who knows what would have happened.
We are as a society too quick to criticize and not quick enough to praise the NHS- Certainly I will not hear a word against it now!
