"Live life better Derbyshire"

About: Live Life Better Derbyshire / Specialist Weight Management

(as the patient),

I was referred by my GP after a wellbeing check up identified my BMI was too high and I had cholesterol ratio and level issues.

The 12 week course of nutrition sessions provided me with loads of useful information and solid guidance on how to eat better, gain control over my weight and feel less stressed while being healthier, happier and fitter than I had for years. I also had the benefit of eligibility for a fitness course with an exercise trainer and this has helped me to strengthen my core, increase my stamina and work towards a flatter stomach.

It worked and is working for me. A brilliant concept of education and personal support to help people live life better.

This should be the frontline service of the NHS and they should roll this out to NHS staff, schools and universities as well as to all the general public to help more people live a better life and cut NHS costs.

Update posted by The lighter fitter me (the patient)

I'm still making progress towards my goal and the fact that I have the option of a weekly contact with the service is and will continue to be, an important factor in my motivation and success. I'm going dinghy sailing again with my Son this weekend and can't wait and that's more important to me than you can know and is directly a huge positive outcome from the Live Life Better scheme. Thanks.
