I have benefited greatly from the services locally, and generally I am very pleased with the level of care and service.
I am sure that many people go to their GP with an apprehension that there might be something serious lurking inside them, and I suspect many are not brave enough to actually express their fears. Recently I went in to check out a severe headache that I had experienced. I wanted to check that there was nothing seriously wrong - my mother and my brother had both died from strokes.
When I mentioned my concern, it was received with "why do you say that? That is very serious. " Whilst it transpires there is nothing sinister in the headache, I just wanted peace of mind. My point is, I would expect to be able to share these concerns freely with my GP and have them received with empathy, without getting a reaction.
As I say, I do appreciate an otherwise excellent service.
