my sister in law was admitted onto ward 5 on 25/08/2015 having suffered several falls, since being admitted, she has had an xray, which staff say showed nothing adverse she fell again while attempting to use ward toilet, since which time she has being moved to and from bed, using a hoist and no attempt to keep her mobile has been made, her leg is turning outwards, and she has no feeling in her lower legs, yet nothing seems to be done, today we are informed that she has become incontinent and is to be sent to queen elizabeth hospital but dont know when, given symptoms i would have thought this a medical emergency as i myself suffer with spinal problems and to me though a layman,it could be slow onset cauda equina, which if the case needs urgent attention, and if nothing is done, and that does prove to be the case her incontinence could be permanent.
