"Trelawnly Ward"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

I had a hysterectomy and my after care was awful. In fact I didnt have any.It was a very frightening experience and not one I would want to go through again. The nurses were sharp and took a long time to answer the call bell,I had to fight with a nurse who kept on and on at me about walking but wouldnt help me.I didnt have any help to wash and when I asked for my pee bag to be emptied the nurse said 'get up and empty it yourself'' I was in for 7 days at Treliske.I watched while the nurses didnt look after the other woman in my ward which made it worse. When I was to be tranfered to another hospital I was asked to wait in the waiting room which was freezing, after an hour I went to see what was happening and was told I could be there till ten oclock that night,it was lunchtime, then the nurse said 'They had to get on with some work' Well I think I was their work. This ward needs closing and starting again with people who really want to look after you when you are at your most vunerable. The food was digusting.
