"Rather embarrassing procedure..."

About: Royal Preston Hospital

Went for what could be considered a rather embarrassing, if not painful, urological procedure a week ago at Chorley Hospital. I was pleasantly surprised that from the referral there had been no delay, no cancellation, no mix up of details from admin staff (previous experience!).

All the data pertaining to me was correct and up to date.

The pre-op appointment went without a hitch, the Nurse was attentive and very human, considering what corporate rubbish they now have adhere too. The procedure date then came through within two weeks, allowing me to book plenty of tine off in advance.

I was admitted to Chorley Hospital (Rawcliffe/winstanley ward) for the procedure, where the Nurses, HCAs and Theatre Staff just set you at ease, explaining everything, being polite and seeking knowledge to an answer if they couldn't answer. They always smiled when they spoke to you too. And to top it all off, the Consultant actually came down several times to see if I was alright, even though they probably hadn't eaten all day because of the long list.

The staff across the trust are dedicated to their choice of work, even if they are taken for granted by their senior management and today's society.
