I called the 111 service and after taking note of my symptoms advised I should go to the out of hours GP. I was advised to arrive early (appointment was for 8.00pm). When I got there, the receptionist knew nothing about it and I was told I would just be issued pain killers and should see my GP on Monday. I wasn't aware the receptionist was qualified as they didn't even know what the problem actually was.
I had painkillers at home so we agreed it would be best if I went home. On the way back, I called 111 again to see why my details were not forwarded to Cheltenham General. After going through the symptoms again, they then advised me to go to A&E instead. I was given a mild painkiller but the pain was still, in my opinion extreme. They then sent me back to the after hours GP to which I waited for over 1.5 hours. Total time in Cheltenham General without seeing a doctor? 3 hours....might have been longer if I stayed. Arrived at 7.30pm, left at 10.35pm without seeing a doctor.
Tramadol and diazepam at home so double dose to ease pain tonight!
