"Nelson Ward - The NHS at it's very best."

I have just spent over a week in Nelson Ward and must congratulate all staff, whether administration, medical, food hostesses, cleaners and trainees for their brilliant and professional service. Nothing was too much trouble, and they gave compassion, care, respect and true professionalism to every patient in my part of the ward.

They worked very hard, dealt with impolite and ungrateful patients with courtesy and made sure information that they had was cascaded down to the patient, at all times.

It cannot be easy to work in NHS at the Medway Maritime Hospital at this time, with financial ruthless cutbacks, bureaucracy around every corner, and constant negative comments in the media but the staff on Nelson Ward help the patients because they have a vocation - not because they want a job.

I could not have received better care, and I am indeed grateful to them, for all that they did for me.
