"Car parking"

About: Gosport War Memorial Hospital

I was attending a wake at the Thorngate Halls on 17.09.15 next to the Gosport War Memorial where I believe you have now allocated your staff parking (upon investigation)

I entered the car park to the rear of the Thorngate Halls and parked in a bay marked NHS.

This being a white car parking space I was under the impression I could park there.

Upon looking around the car park and having checked the relevant pay machine board at the rear of the car park to see the parking restrictions I could find no reason as to why I couldn't park (the car park was very full) in the space.

I paid the correct fee to allow me to park, I was within a marked bay and I hadn't parked obstructively.

The 3 facts stated on the orange sign directly behind the pay machine.

An hour later i'm informed by another member of the funeral party that I have a parking ticket along with 4 other family members attending the wake.

We all wouldn't have parked in a bay if there had been adequate notices stating that we couldn't.

So on top of an emotional day we now all have to appeal our parking ticket of £90 because of improper signage.

Even the member of staff issuing tickets said there wasn't the correct notices displayed.

I'm very angry that we have been put in this situation!

Sort out the notices to stop people misunderstanding the use of this car park.
