"Lack of Communication between Departments"

About: Southampton General Hospital

I was admitted for an operation on Wednesday 02/09/15 and discharged the following day.The area of concern is between the pharmacy and the ward as I was discharge at 10.16 but was kept waiting until 19.00hrs on Thursday evening before receiving my medication.

After emailing to make a complaint which was very slow to reply there is a blame game going on between departments as Pharmacy was saying it not there fault and it was the ward fault.

At present I don,t think they take there complaints seriously but they should do as this is just as important as any part of patient care.

Thank you for your comments although I am sorry to read of the difficulties you experienced and will pass your feedback to the surgical matron for review.

I wish you well for your continued recovery.
