My partner and I visited Colchester University Hospital today for a pre-op assessment for a procedure to be carried out on Monday 21st Sept.
We have visited the hospital before but today were struck by how clean, bright and efficient the place seemed to be, how helpful were all the staff to whom we spoke.
The person in ECC who saw my partner was articulate, sensitive and knowledgeable and explained the procedure in laymen's terms without putting the fear of God in him!
They were accompanied by a student nurse who was being trained, and they included them in the conversation too without making them feel inadequate.
I do not think it is appropriate that I should name this little person, but they were utterly charming and a credit to the nursing profession!
Other staff who took blood samples and ECG's were also helpful and pleasant, the waiting time was negligible and the experience, all in all, was a good one.
Well done Colchester Hospital, we can only sing your praises!
"Praiseworthy care!"
