"A&E visit to Hairmyres Hospital"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as a carer),

Very proud of our NHS this morning. We're quick to complain about it but not so quick to praise! My Mum fell outside my house last night. I took her to Hairmyres A&E late last night. The service, treatment and care she got from the team there was second to none and all staff from porters to nursing/medical team were first class - professional, empathetic and excellent at communicating (also with appropriate humour and a smile! ). Broken her foot and her ankle which isn't so good right enough......

Dear JenDi

Thank you so much for telling us about your recent experience in the Emergency department. Staff work hard to provide good patient care. They will be delighted to read your positive comments and I will make sure they are shared with the whole team.

Taking the time to comment about effective communication,, empathy and indeed an appropriate smile will be greatly appreciated by all staff.

So sorry to hear about your mum's injury. I wish her a speedy recovery.

Thank you again

Lise
