"I attended A&E with a broken ..."

About: Royal Oldham Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I attended A&E with a broken wrist at lunch time on Sunday 13th September 2009. It was a bad break and I felt faint whilst waiting for attention. My partner alerted the medical team and the doctor leading the unit escorted me for treatment. My wrist needed to be pulled straight before it could be set and the doctor said that he was very busy but would attempt the procedure befor the end of his shift so that I would not have to return the following day. He was as good as his word and realigned my wrist at around 7pm. He even waited beyond the end of his shift to check the x-ray to ensure he had been successful. My wrist is now on the mend with a minimum amount of discomfort. I would like to thank the doctor for his kind attention and professionalism. The other staff in the unit were great too

What could be improved

More staff to deal with the excessive work load
