"Endoscopy failure"

About: Wansbeck Hospital

After suffering with symptoms of a sensitive nature for well over a year, I finally worked up the courage to visit my GP, who referred me to endoscopy at Wansbeck on a short waiting time referral. I didn't wait long long for an appointment to come in the post which was great! On the day of my appointment I used the last my annual leave to take the day off as I was extremely nervous. I got to Endoscopy and was admitted, given a gown and a bedspace, then left for over an hour by myself. Eventually a nurse came and told me my procedure could not be carried out due to technical problems! It also happened to be 5pm and all the staff were leaving! I have completely lost all confidence in dealing with my sensitive problem, I worked myself up and stressed for weeks about this appointment to be well and truly kicked when I was down. I will not be visiting again.

I am so sorry to hear that you have had your procedure cancelled at such short notice, particularly when it had taken a great deal of courage for you to attend in the first place.
