What I liked
I cannot comment on the facilites now on the maternity wards but when i had my babies i wasnt impressed at all with the standard of care provided.
What could be improved
I was left alone the majority of the time writhing in agony in labour and the midwife kept going away. I wanted to stand up to have my babies but i wasnt allowed to and hence had 2 degree tears on both of my babies births. The pain after giving birth due to stiches was excruiting and if I would have been allowed to stand up as what felt natural for me to do at the time im convinced I could have delivered my babies without the need for stiches and wouldnt have tore if I was in a standing position. The widwifes should allow the mother to have her baby in any position she feels most comfortable with not hooked up to a bed as this may be easier for the midwifes. It the 21st century rules need to be changed and midwifes need better training as many of them are incompetent.
