"I like the fact that some staff ..."

About: Fairfield General Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked I like the fact that some staff tried, and that not everyone has given up. What could be improved? People must be treated with dignity, people must be given a good service, a service that both cares and delivers a first class health service. Anything else? I have just left with my farther in law who is 70+ and has been in Fairfield hospital for a few days. He was treated with very little dignity. The ward always looked like it needed cleaning. The toilet for patients was awful, every time he went he needed to clean the seat, t floor was always wet and stained with urine? That is without the awful smell. The doctors and nurses did their best but clearly they were short of staff both doctors and nurses, when a doctor orders a blood test a hour might be fine but 5 hours and reminding staff clearly is too long. You might say why did we not complain. We did on the 2nd day, which just resulted in the care being worst. its time we had real choice and real completion, if it was any other service you would vote with your feet and not attend again, its wrong when you have no real options.
