"I have waited over three months ..."

What could be improved

I have waited over three months for an appointment in Rheumatology - I got to see a nurse practitioner! I was expecting to see a consultant or at least a registrar. This is healthcare on the cheap and totally unacceptable to me. There was no examination of my joints apart from a quick glance to look for any swelling! How on earth do you expect to diagnose something without a proper examination? The consultant came in towards the end and barely seemed interested and just ordered some blood tests. He made no attempt to discuss what he thought with me, despite me asking what he thought was the problem. I was made to feel like a nuisance and that I was wasting his time. This is not the treatment I expect and nowhere near the quality of care and interest my GP showed. Frankly, I feel like I needn't have bothered going and was a waste of my morning

Stop this ridiculous nurse practitioner system. Patients want to see doctors who are actually interested in them and want to feel like we ahve been listened to a properly examined
