I have been attending the Rheumatology Dept. for many years.I have had many health issues and varying conditions arising throughout this time. I have been listened to ,had alternate suggestions made regarding my treatment plan.Many times the clinic is full .possibly running late however that does not detract from my consultation and I have never felt rushed or my concerns not fully explored.
My Consultant has tried me on different medications which have benefited my health,having follow-ups with the Specialist nurse also works well.Once there is a stability in a patient's health, they can have a'shared care' with their G.P for certain aspects of their plan.
The Dept. works well as a team , it is possible to have blood/urine tests and steroid injections as part of your needed treament as neccesary.
It can sometimes be difficult to get your follow up apt. when requested but I do believe extra staffing has helped to ease that situation.
I think this Dept. at Central Middx really has got it spot on,it has been one of the more positive departments I have attended. .
You have a Consultant and Staff Team that really do care.So yes, I would recomend.
