My 6 yr old wouldn't go a poo. It could go up to 4 weeks without one. Then when he did he would be screaming in pain trying to push it out as it would be so hard and big (quite often blocking the toilet). He could be on their for 30 mins to 1 hour 30 mins. He would try to push it back up as hurt so much. His pants keep being soiled which I was afraid his friends would notice. Went to gp and they referred him to this service. Once we saw the doctor in this service he said he was severely constipation & sorted him out with high doses of movicol to clear him out then maintenance. Helen and Sandra were great and put me on seminar about it and I got excellent tele support from them. My son now goes poo everyday without pain and on odd days don't go I'm not educated on increased the dose. It can be up to 2 years before don't need movicol. The doctor was also excellent talking to my son.
