"Cardiac Wards"

I was admitted to Derriford on Monday 7th Sept in the evening, was treated almost immediately in ED and was transferred to Tavy Ward.

After one day there I was transfered to Torcross Ward and then after one day transferred to Bickleigh Ward.

My treatment in all the those Departments was totally amazing!

I was informed almost hourly what was happening, staff were totally dedicated in care of patients, nothing was too much trouble for them and was carried out willingly and with a smile on their faces.

On 11th Sept I was fitted with dual lead pacemaker by the doctor who was most diligent in theircare.

Respectful, professional and dignified treatment was received by all theatre staff and I found the approach towards myself without fault.

I am 100% confident in the treatment and all staff.

While my condition itself was not life threatening, due to it being allowed to continue for almost 6 years by another hospital it was considered to be urgent.

I can never thank the staff at Derriford enough and to say that I have now got the quality of my life back is an understatement.

The day after the proceedure I felt healthier than I had for the previous 4 years, and continue to improve on a daily basis.

Throughout the whole stay in Derriford I was treated in the most professional, caring and dedicated way, which in my opinion went above and beyond the call of duty.

I would like to take this time to thank everyone involved in my care, you really are Angels of the Wards.

Bless you all and although the words 'Thank You' seem so trite, they are from the heart and you will have my lasting respect and gratitude.

I cannot mention you all by name, but if you remember Lynne King you know who you are.

All the time I was there I was involved and counselled in both care and diagnosis, never felt excluded and at no time did I have cause to complain or worry.

I would have no hesitation in highly recommending this Hospital and its Staff to anyone, and indeed have opted to have any/all further treatment there as opposed to any other facility available.

Well done Derriford, you are a shining example of what a Hospital should be like and you have every right to hold your heads up.
