"Very good a&e"

About: Scunthorpe General Hospital

Just want to say how lovely the staff were in a&e they were very efficient I went in last wk with server abdominal pains my husband told them that I was pregnant via IVF the pain turned out to be ohss. I was given pain relief which was very quick they brought in a ganecologist to see me asap I was examined throughly given more pain relief and antibiotics, once pain went down I was transferred to ganecologist ward which wasn't as nice the staff were unfriendly and you couldn't get info on what was happening with you. I had to stay on over night they said i would be scanned in the morning and the ganecologist would see me after. I waited all morning nobody knew what was happening.

I was monitored but left pain had dulled but I still had my catheter in me which was very uncomfortable. I had a junior Dr see me which again I don't know why because they didn't know much either I had to insist on a Dr seeing me. By this time I just wanted to go home I didn't know if I was still pregnant or not or what was going on with me. Finally I was sent to be scanned with the catheter still dangling they did strap it but very uncomfortable to walk with. The nurse I saw was fantastic they got the catheter removed and scanned me internally to see the baby was fine and my overies were still quite enlarged. I went back to the ward where I had to wait for the Dr to dichrge me and explain in more detail what had happened to me. I had to really keep pestering the nurses to know when and if the Dr will see me today they just replied don't know but will find out eventually after seeing the same jr dr again with no info a Dr came down examined me and explained what had happened and said they would discharge me whilst waiting for the paper work to get done the ganecologist Dr from a&e came to see me which was really nice.
