"Appalling treatment for CT scan"
About: Queen's Hospital (Romford) Queen's Hospital (Romford) Romford RM7 0AG
Arrived at radiology reception, handed in appointment letter.
No-one asked for patient assessment checklist.
Waited 20 minutes past my check in time.
A member of staff called my name, incorrectly pronounced by them and they were not happy that I asked them to verify it to ensure it was me.
They said they were taking me and the other patients for a walk, but did not say how far.
In actual fact it was right through the hospital, outside the back car park and into oncology.
If I had known this I would have brought my wheelchair.
My wife asked how we would find our way back. The member of staff said they would show us the way to the main corridor, but this did not happen.
I had told the radiographer on a phone call yesterday that I would need help but this did not happen.
Eventually, an hour after my appointment time I was taken outside to a mobile unit, up steep stairs.
I have limited mobility and managed just about to climb the steps.
Inside there was a tiny cubicle for changing, and no-one to help me as I have difficulty dressing.
There was no space for my carer to even get into the unit, let alone into the tiny cubicle.
I have no idea of the damage I have done to all the tubes inside me.
I had to struggle to get dressed and there was no offer to check if I was fine and if I could descend the stairs.
A deeply unpleasant experience.
