"Pretty much nothing. The bus service ..."

About: Royal Preston Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Pretty much nothing. The bus service to the hospital is efficient, but that's to Preston city council's credit, not yours.

What could be improved

I am an ongoing patient at the rheumatology clinic and have been for a year. What little service I have received has been rude, dismissive, confusing and contradictory. I am made to run from pillar to post to collect my medication, have monthly blood tests which nobody reads or even notices (my liver function numbers tripled in one month, and nobody made any attempt to contact me about them), stand in hospital corridors to beg for needles from random nurses because you provide my medication in syringes, but no needles (and no explanation as to how I'm supposed to get hold of them), and go back to my GP every month to have him prescribe one of the drugs I take because the rheumatologist won't prescribe it (even though he wants me to take it, for my RA).

I seem to be unable to make an appointment to see an actual doctor without going through the referral process again - rest assured, I will make sure my referral is to an alternative provider.
