What I liked
I liked the fact that my consultation was on time, albeit very brief.
What could be improved
The consultants manner and his brutal approach to me as a human being. He could have spent some time to consider my feelings and how he was speaking to me. I appreciate the staff have to deliver devastating news, and that they do this often, but spare a thought for the person in front of you, and please, please, consider carefully just what t is that you say and how you say it.
Anything else?
The consultant I met with caused me to feel like an inconvenience, like I was perhaps suffering from Munchausen's syndrome (I am not a frequent visitor to my doctors, certainly not the hospital) and his bedside manner was attrotious and damaging. He spent approximately 3 minutes with me and I left the hospital in a worse condition than I arrived, totally emotionally crushed and then bouncing between very angry and shock. I feel so strongly about how the consultant spoke to me in the Neurology department, that for the sake of other people, I shall be following up this comment with a complaint letter. I am utterly disgusted, bewildered and concerned for other peoples' care and emotional wellbeing.
