"Caring and professionalism at St Richards A and E"

About: St Richard's Hospital

Almost 4 weeks ago now I came into A and E at around 8pm on Thursday evening, I had flicked a tray full of hot fat up onto my neck and down my chest. I went into the shower at home and was brought down by my husband as I was in a bad way.

The way I was treated from the receptionist to the triage nurse to a sister was brilliant. I was seen immediately and put into another cold shower.

Vaseline gauze dressings were applied- and changed daily for a few days and brought comfort. They recommended using bio-oil, and when the nurse in petworth surgery saw to my needs, they concurred with that.

Sadly some of the blisters became infected and I had a course of anti biotics, which helped tremendously.

The care I received that night was superb! Please please thank them for their prompt actions their advice,, and their care over me. I will never forget it! I am now healing well, though feel there may be some scarring. It could have been worse!! My grateful thanks. Viv Cresswell

Thank you for writing this; your accident sounds horrible and we are so pleased that your husband brought you to A and E.

We appreciate your comments very much and the reception, medical and nursing staff will be delighted that you were so appreciative of their care.

We hope you continue to recover well.
