"The Nursing Team on Rawcliffe ..."

About: Chorley & South Ribble Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The Nursing Team on Rawcliffe Ward couldn't do enough for you. Lifted your spirits as they were happy and this rubs off when you are under the weather.

What could be improved

I would say that the after care was far from perfect. NHS red tape (Some of the Doctor's comments not mine) prevented me seeing the surgeon (or his team) when I had complications after my surgery. I had not been given a follow up appointment and so had to jump through hoops to be able to get an appointment back with my surgeon. After 2 additional visits to Chorley A&E, Preston Hospital and my GP along with several calls to surgical secretaries finally PALS managed to get me an appointment. It couldn't have come soon enough. 4 weeks after surgery I managed to see the surgeon.

Anything else?

I would say the care at the time was great but once out of the hospital it felt like out of sight out of mind. Even one of the Doctors at Preston/Chorley explained that they received more funding for new patients and so they tried to get more new payments.
