"Thumb injury"

About: Queen Victoria Hospital (East Grinstead)

Miu services excellent . Nurses were very professional and friendly and you felt they had a lot of time and care for you as an individual. Waiting even though busy was not terrible and you were regularly reminded that you had not been forgotten and nurses checked on our wellbeing. I was seen by a plastic surgeon consultant they were very efficient and again took time to explain my options and gave me a choice to decide.i felt very confident in my options and it was easy to make a decision.

In the end I had to be admitted. To the Margaret duncombe be ward which was exceptionally clean it made easy and ch look terrible! Staff were kind, friendly, efficient, caring, treated you as and individual and when looking after you would talk to you as an individual. They made the whole experience easy to cope with and even made you laugh, which is better than any medicine.

I didn't expect to end up in hospital but I am glad I went to qvh. They were all wonderful and so professional. I still have a working thumb thanks to their quick assessment, admissions and most of all amazing care. Qvh puts all other local hospitals to shame and all their staff from cleaners to his to nurse and consultants were all wonderful not many hospitals now where you can say the same! Thank you so much for everything for making a hospital trip ok rather than scary!

Dear Anonymous

Thank you for your feedback in relation to your recent visit to Queen Victoria Hospital. Our teams like to ensure that all possible options are considered where possible prior to surgery, including patients in this process and making sure that they are involved in any decisions made. Where surgery is required our teams are focussed on care and compassion in order to make any time in the hospital as comfortable as possible.

As you point out, the interest shown to you are the kind of actions that make us particularly proud of our employees. Please be assured that your comments have been shared with the teams in MIU, plastic surgery and on Margaret Duncombe ward. No doubt they will appreciate, as well as be encouraged by the time and trouble you took in writing your kind remarks.

We sincerely appreciate your thoughtfulness and wish you all the best with your continued recovery.

Kind regards,

Nicolle Ferguson - Patient Experience Manager
