"Everything is just the way I like it"

About: North Ayrshire Council - Three Towns, North Coast and Arran

(as a service user),

I’ve had carers from the council for the past 5 weeks. I had a fall at home, I have arthritis in my knees and I couldn’t get back up. I was in hospital for 1 month and they organised my care at home before I got out.

The carers come 3 times each day

• They help me with my shower and prepare breakfast in the morning. They leave a flask of tea and a sandwich for my lunch

• They come to prepare my dinner

• They come to get me ready for bed around 8pm

The carers are awful good. It’s 2 girls that normally come although they are on holiday this week. The times they come are good. I couldn’t do without them.

I’ve got a bracelet now that I can press in case I fall again. The carers have phoned me three times so far to check on me as I must have pushed it by mistake.

Everything is just the way I like it.

Dear Castles,

Many thanks for taking the time to contact us.

It is of course very satisfying for us to hear about care provision that is working out well for any of the people we support and I am particulary happy to hear that the service has came at the right time for you.

I will pass on your positive words to the manager of the service you describe and I am sure the staff will be pleased to hear what you have said about the services that they provide.

Once again, many thanks for getting in touch.

Best Wishes
