"Meal options at Wells Road Centre"

About: Forensic mental health / Low secure services

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

Following a Seacole Ward meeting the following suggestions were raised by the patients

More choice of vegetables

Less chips, currently they are on the menu approx. 4 times per week, would prefer a healthier choice

A lighter meal choice at lunch time (cheese on toast, omlettes, jacket potatoes, filled wraps)

Fresh fruit is always available

Fresh salad bar is always available

Chefs could visit the ward

· Discussed comments with the catering team

· Reviewed current patient menu – chips are on 4 times per week, however there are other healthier choices of potato available - jacket potato, new potatoes

· Lighter lunch meal – catering team are reviewing what lighter choices can be provided that are suitable to be served from a servery, currently available are:

Jacket potato with various filling

Home-made soup with a bread roll

Quiche

Salad Bar

· Discussed with catering team to attend ward community meetings which take place every 2 weeks on Seacole Ward and to visit ward to discuss any catering related topics
