"Brantham Ward - excellent this time around"

About: Ipswich Hospital

My son was admitted on Friday night, 4th September, he had become suddenly unwell at home and we had been referred in via Out of Hours who were also excellent.

The history taking was good as was reference to his underlying heath condition, which affects our whole family.

My son noted that the staff were really good, he had a very high temperature and subsequently probably bronchitis.

The staff were also lovely to me, which I really appreciated.

This really put my faith back in this ward, as my own previous visit a few months ago, put me on the edge of making a formal complaint, due to the apology I received in person I felt no need to do so.

It is very difficult when families have invisible illnesses such as Lupus, Hughes Syndrome/APS, Sjogrens, Steven Johnson Syndrome etc

I would appreciate this emergency ward having access to the relative charity website: http://www.hughes-syndrome.org/

My entire family are under hospitals in London and it is nice to see locally things are catching up, especially as several of the recommended specialists for Hughes Syndrome/APS are actually, luckily for our family, working out of Ipswich Hospital some of the time

Basically myself or children can present looking not too bad, but can deteriorate quickly.

So thanks for being so careful this time around, it was much appreciated, all staff were lovely.
