"The staff were so reassuring and caring"

About: Heartlands Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I would just like to take the opportunity to thank all on Day Surgery ward and theatre staff for the excellent care I was given on my visit in September.

I was reluctant to come to Heartlands because I had heard so many negative reports about the care and conditions there, but I can honestly say the ward was very clean and the staff so reassuring and caring.

The theatre staff made sure I was reassured all the time whilst having my procedure which was done under a local.

I would just like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to you all.

Thank you for your feedback regarding the Day Surgery Unit at Heartlands Hospital and that despite being told negative reports beforehand, you found your own experience to be one of good care and found the staff to be supportive and reassuring, both on the unit and when you were in theatre.

I am pleased that you also found the ward area to be clean and comfortable, and I am forwarding your post to Judith Paintain, Ward Manager for Day Surgery Unit, and to Debbie Jones, who is the Matron for both Day Surgery and Theatres.

They will both ensure that your lovely comments are communicated to all of the team.
