I have had to visit the Early Pregnancy Assessment Centre with 3 of my 4 pregnancies. I have had 2 miscarriages, and the last visit in August 2015 was very different, as I learned my pregnancy was viable and likely to succeed.
When you go to EPAC it is incredibly daunting; you want so badly to have good news about your pregnancy, but in two cases I had to be told I had miscarried. The staff were so sensitive and kind. They never rushed me or my husband, they allowed us time to reflect, to ask questions, and treated us with dignity and respect.
The last visit was nervewracking as we expected bad news again but were thrilled to have good news! The staff were every bit as lovely when delivering the scan results.
The staff are what the NHS is all about. They are caring, compassionate, sensitive, and they were made to be in the profession. A real credit to the RVI. So lovely and reassuring to know that if anyone I cared about had to go through the stress of early pregnancy worries, they are in safe and caring hands in EPAC at the RVI.
"EPAC - great service no matter the outcome"
