About: Royal Surrey County Hospital

I was recently at Royal Surrey County Hospital A&E department. I broke my femur in half and the ambulance crew was amazing. They made me laugh when I was in complete agony. To when I entered A&E and the staff was wondering kept apologising for hurting me having to move my leg told them to ignore me because they can't help it and they were helping me. And I kept apologising for crying. Lol. They were so good and caring. When I was waiting to have surgery I had to use a bed pan and male or female was so dignified about it as yes it is embarrassing having someone put something under your naked bum to pee. And yes they thought I was silly apologising for them having to do it. Surgeons were amazing I was so scared going under that they held my hands and comforted me. And after was amazing after. Yes I did come across two people out of so many that shouldn't be in care but hey get that everywere you go. Had to bribe someone with chocolate to get pain relief as they couldn't be bothered on the night shift to give anyone before bed. All in all can't praise them enough.

We are delighted that you had such a positive experience despite breaking your leg! This is great news and i will be sure to pass your kind words onto the department to share amongst colleagues.
