I have nothing but the profoundest respect for the medical team on this day care unit. Their professionalism is outstanding and their understanding of the needs and concerns of their patients is palpable.
My sister ,at the age of 80, is undergoing a second course of treatment after an initial diagnosis four years ago of breast cancer which went into remission but has now returned and the treatment she is receiving is nonpareil.
However, the administration is sometimes chaotic with a lack of communication and "system" overload contributing to some long waiting times and confusion about the order and priority of treatment. Which was my sister's experience on 2/09/2015 but was resolved by an experienced and sensitive administrator and a continued recognition of the problem by both the more experienced administrators and nursing staff.
The first point of contact at the unit is staffed by less experienced staff which I respectfully would suggest should receive more support and direction allowing me to raise the rating of this unit from my 9.5 to a magnificent 10.
I wish to express my appreciation,on my sister's behalf, for allowing me to thank these exceptional professional people and to raise some issues which may contribute to everyone's better experience of a difficult time.
""Marvellous darling""
