"Pre Op assessment"

About: James Paget University Hospital

I was seen by the pre-op assessment dept yesterday 28/08/2015

My appointment was for 15:30. I arrived at 15:25 and was seen immediately. The nurse's approach was very thorough (with a little appropriate light-hearted manner to put me at ease). They answered every question I could think of and plenty more besides relating to my forthcoming op. The nurse seemed very experienced and knowledgeable but without any tone of monotony.

Compared to my experiences at my former local hospitals in London (I moved to Suffolk in June of this year), I can honestly say this was a much more pleasurable and worthwhile visit.

Please feel free to pass on my comments to those concerned.

I then had to visit the blood test dept and was in / out before I had time to finish complementing the nurse on how swiftly / efficiently the procedure had been done...Brilliant ! I am used to queuing for up to 2 hours.

Anyone who moans about the James Paget should be sent to Enfield for treatment........ then see what they think !

Dear Mr Cant

Thank you for taking the time to post feedback on your recent experiences of both the pre-operative assessment clinic and phlebotomy.

I have passed your comments on to the teams involved in your care, who will be pleased to hear that they made your experience a positive one.

Kind Regards

Amanda Hood
