"Pembury phone system needs a rethink"

I had to cancel an outpatient appointment at Pembury hospital. Dialing the 0845 number given on the appointment card told me I was important but left in in a queue of indeterminent length to just get through to the correct hospital let alone the department I required. I gave up waiting on the phone, and racking up a phone bill, as I am sure many others would. Hence potentially becoming a 'no show' in the department. I then phoned the hospital using the geographic number from the BT phone book, very quickly got through to rheumatology and had excellent service from the person there who answered the phone. Staff excellent- hospital phone system needs sorting- could this be a reason for some of the non-attendees at appointments
