"Stay in ward 7"

About: Manchester Royal Infirmary

My stay at MRI this time was absolutely abysmal. I am a renal patient at this hospital and the service is normally good, however I had the misfortune of staying in ward 7 the cardiovascular ward. I wasn't given a correct renal diet, and wasn't given my correct medication the time I stayed there. Some of the nurses were good, others not. I certainly won't be staying in ward 7 again.

We were extremely sorry to receive your comments and concerns via the NHS Choices / Patient Opinion website about your experience as an in-patient on Ward 7 at the Manchester Royal Infirmary. We recognise that it is of paramount importance that patients receive the correct nutrition for their needs and also receive their regular medication. This is the standard we would always expect for all our patients and must apologise that this has not been your experience on this occasion. It is very difficult to be able to respond in detail and offer a comprehensive explanation of the issues you have encountered without having more detail to enable us to investigate. We take all issues surrounding patient care very seriously and would very much like to hear from you directly about this. If you contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0161 276 8686 or by e-mailing pals@cmft.nhs.uk they will be happy to discuss this with you.
