My father is 95 years old.

His brain is still working excellently but his body is giving up and he has been in

L&D four or five times in the past couple of years.

Last night he discharged himself rather than spend another weekend in there.

I will be making an official complaint, meanwhile let's just say he has not received nurture, empathy or attention.

I could make a list but let's just give one instance: yesterday afternoon a visitor to see my dad phoned me and said he'd gone on to the ward and couldn't find him but he could hear him calling for help from somewhere.


Please someone help me!" He was standing next to a nurse who reckoned they couldn't hear him.

The visitor went to dad, who was in great pain, had a look and saw that the catheter was twisted and sorted it out himself.

This is typical and not the worst incident.

Dad said he would rather go home even if it meant he died that night than spend another hour there and I couldn't find it in my heart to disagree.
