"Exceptional good care"

I went to A&E department after I injured my back at work and felt excoriating pain.

1. The receptionist took my details in a warm, friendly manner 2. The triage nurse was understanding of my situation and reassured me that I will be looked after.

3. Once I got to a cubicle, another nurse came and introduced themself and their role, then informed me of what they were going to do, then proceeded to administer a pain relief injection.

4. Approximately 30 min later a doctor came in to the cubicle and introduced themself by name and their role, inquired about exactly how I injured my self. The doctor then examined me and explained what the next step of action of my care will be.

5. While I was waiting a volunteer came and asked if I needed any refreshment and sandwiches.

I was finally seen by another nurse who introduced themself by name and their role and explained that I was fit to go and gave me information about the medication i was giving

The best part of the care I received was the way I was treated as an individual.

Hospitals, especially A&E can sometimes seem like a hectic place, were you as a patient feel like you might be treated like another number, but this was not the case with me. Well done and keep up the great work.
