Having had a condition for 2 years, I've always been happy with the treatment and service I've received at the hospital. Until now. I had an awful bleed a week after surgery and went to A&E, which wasn't a pleasant experience. All the drs I saw in A&E and later EMU said I'd need reviewing by my consultant sooner than the given 6 week follow up. My practice nurse has had no joy getting through to try and get an earlier appointment and was told that the ambulatory care clinic wouldn't be appropriate for me. Today I had a letter cancelling my 6 week follow up. I'll be 10 weeks post-op by the time I see my consultant. My GPs are supportive but have no experience of my condition. I've had further problems since the bleed but what am I to do?! I'm not ill enough to warrant a trip to A&E, GPs can't answer my questions and I can't see my consultant until November!
