"Staffing and transport issues impacting on activities"

Castleview day centre is excellent. It gives me a chance to mingle with people my own age and to share ideas about what we can do.

The activities here stimulate my mind. We’ve set up different things at the centre; we brought in old books and we’ve started a library. We can do crafts like making flowers and Christmas decorations.

I think the ratio of staff to clients needs to increase so the staff can spend a bit more time with us. Today there are only 3 staff and 15 people; it is not enough. This is the busiest day I’ve seen here, it really makes it difficult for the staff.

Because the centre is busier it’s having a knock on effect on transport. More people on the bus means it takes longer. We didn’t arrive until 11. 15 today, I had tea and toast at 11. 30 then we had lunch at 12. It means we have no time for activities in the morning. This used to be much better.
