"Well done to all staff"

My husband had been quite unwell and seen 2 GP's following which he was referred to yourselves due to ongoing and severe illness. We had considered nominating a 'hospital hero' but felt that everyone deserved merit.

One particular member of staff in A&E was very kind, caring and efficient and we built up a good rapport in the short time we were with them.

I say 'we' because we were both very well looked after, my husband in his medical needs and me being enabled to be with him resulting in both of us feeling very supported. My husband then moved to the short stay ward where again we were both taken care of by kind and caring nurses and doctors.

The work of the cleaners also needs recognition here as the hospital was spotless and hygienic, exactly what you would hope for in a hospital environment.

What struck us most was the quality of care and the way that each individual contributed to the positive experience we had, a true team where everyone gave of their best.

In my profession too we often receive bad press like the NHS and it is at times like this we need to celebrate the positives and say a heartfelt thank you to all the staff who were so caring, kind and hardworking resulting in my husband's very short stay in hospital and speedy recovery from the worst phase of a very worrying infection.

He is now continuing to recover at home and looking much more like my husband than a gravely ill man.
