"Daughters birth of twins from my perspective as..."
About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital Blackpool Victoria Hospital Blackpool FY3 8NR
Daughter was sent in on 11/08/2015 to be induced. All seemed to be going fine until she requested pain releif which took over an hour to be given. Staff refused to examine her to establish her progress untill she got upset. She was in established labour and was tranfered to delivery suite but had to wait 2 hours for an epidural as anethestist was busy and only one on duty. Midwifes although very caring kept giving conflicting advice until we were getting annoyed as to which one we should listen too, ending up with alot of upset and insecurity in the care we were receiving. It was very obvious that midwives didnt like each other very much and made us feel very vunerable and insecure and untrusting of their care. They were obviously understaffed and that was very noticable and they were so busy doing paperwork that they forgot basic care like filling water jug up to the extent that I asked if I could go and fill it up for my daughter who was very thirsty. Twins were eventually born in theatre safe and well and mother and babies left hospital two days later. Home visit midwives were exactly the same with differing points of view and hence Im having phone calls from a very upset daugjter who feels unconfident as a new mum . Why arnt midwives all reading from the same page! This isnt good practice and to be honest doesnt give you much confidence in NHS. Its not good enough, the public are loosing confidence in your care and practices and this needs sorting. Its all about money and paper work these day not patient care.
