About: Glenfield Hospital

My father was admitted as an emergency onto CCU on a Sunday evening after waiting for urgent bed to become available. We arrived to be greeted by someone else's bloody dressing on the floor of his room (he still had his attached ) on the other side was a soiled wipe which looked as if it had been there awhile unlike dad!

All the floors were dirty too as were the bins.

During his stay after having surgery the only cleaners we saw just emptied the bins never really appeared to clean anywhere. Having worked for the NHS for over 11 years in various roles I know this is not the standard.

The care received was good however the communication between staff & relatives & patient was virtually non-existent.

Dear reviewer,

Thank for taking the time to post your comment.

We are really sorry to hear that the cubicle your father was given was not cleaned to high standard beforehand and that our staff did not communicate with you during your father’s stay at Glenfield. We would like to look into your concerns so we can improve our service for future patients. If you are happy for us to do so, please contact me - Martin.Smith@uhl-tr.nhs.uk and I’ll investigate.

Kind regards,

Martin Smith
