"Fracture Clinic organisation"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

This story has been posted by Healthwatch Tameside on behalf of a member of the public. We have their details and will forward any comments to them. They said…

Last year I visited Tameside Hospital several times with my 80 year old sister who had broken her wrist. In my opinion, the fracture clinic is very very poor and lacks management. The waiting time (caused due to total lack of organisation) is unacceptable. Patients are kept in limbo with a lack of information. When delays are shown on screen they are meaningless.

We are really sorry you have had cause to raise this.

Since your visit last year many changes have been introduced to try and improve the waiting times and communication within the clinics. I do hope at your next visit you do notice these changes.
