"Great experience overall"

About: Royal Free Hospital

I live outside of the Borough for Royal Free but made a self referral after reading the reviews for the Maternity service. RF did not disapoint. The midwives I had in antenatal were both great, very attentive and informative. Triage midwives and doctors were great too. The only complaint I had was it took 3 tries before a needle was inserted into my hand in preparation for any meds I may need. It was pretty painful and I was only given a local anaesthic on the third try. The antenatal ward was fine and clean. The midwife who delivered my baby boy was simply amazing. I would recommend RF just because of them. The were calm and very caring but not overbearing. The midwife made my husband and I feel so safe and comfortable and they fully respected my birth plan and gave me the space and opportunity to make decisions during the birth as well. I'm so happy to have chosen RF and would not hesitate for one second to recommend other mums to this hospital.
